Majestic lion in all his glory. Photograph taken on one of my frequent trips to Namibia

It is fitting that the lion image has been featured as a symbol of bravery, power and majesty in many cultures.

While on a recent photo safari to Namibia we came across a small pride of lions taking a break from their feast. This lion was paying attention to his grooming as I was taking pictures when suddenly someone behind me made a small noise. He immediately looked up and our eyes locked and I swear I saw a look on his face as if to say "You're next." It was both exhilarating and terrifying but I had the presence of mind to capture several pictures.
