Poems’ owners’ history includes over 35 years of combined experience working separately in the publishing, design and framing industries before partnering to create Poems as a boutique art company in 1997. Nasser Shotorbani and Laurie Downing share a clear vision and business philosophy: select original artists working in truly distinctive styles, make bold creative choices, be uncompromising in production and presentation, and communicate with absolute integrity. From the onset, Poems brought new decorative trends to the marketplace, including a popular x-ray botanical collection by radiology technician/photographer Steven N. Meyers (now over 100 images strong all exclusive Poems publications!) Poems’ creative, distribution, sales, marketing and operations teams share the owners’ commitment to the artists represented and to accounts served worldwide.
